The Mutual was formed in 2009 by GSA graduates as a tool for creative networking and to facilitate exhibition opportunities for Glasgow’s growing contingent of emerging artists and creative practitioners.
The Mutual offers its members access to an ever-growing creative community of support, resources and skills. In practical terms, The Mutual can assist members in the sourcing of equipment, venues, professional contacts and skilled expertise.
Membership is free, and open to all early stage career artists based in or linked with Glasgow. The terms of your membership are negotiated on an individual basis, based upon what skills and time you can share with the membership.
The Mutual also offers members access to its rolling exhibition programme, and members are encouraged to submit proposals and work for the upcoming exhibition programme which consists numerous exhibitions & multidisciplinary events through thematic and open briefs and call outs set by the Mutual’s operational committee.
